My name is Marisa and I started my business, Funny Balloons LLC, because I love the big smile on kids’ faces when I hand them a balloon animal.  It all started during COVID and I ordered a balloon kit.   I started off with a red dog and it was super fun to learn new balloon animals, now I can make 14 different types of balloons!  I soon found myself selling balloons at a neighborhood park and expanded into birthday parties, craft fairs, neighborhood celebrations and business celebrations. My business is three years old and I also make necklaces, bracelets and rings out of rubber bands and offer temporary henna tattoos. My Grandpa is a retired art teacher, so I have made art projects with him since I was 1.5 years old!  I love practicing the beautiful henna flowers and complex designs.  It is fun running an on-demand business because my customers get exactly what they want!

Funny Balloons LLC is a family-run business as my little sister Josze helps to take orders and keep track of sales.  Funny Balloons LLC donates 10% of our earnings to education and organizations that sponsor craft fairs (5280 Gymnastics), firefighters (Foothills Fire and Rescue Pancake Breakfast), and at my pediatrician's tenth anniversary party I had bar codes to two non-profits on my table to encourage donations (Partners in Health and Sandy Hook Promise).  

My hobbies outside of running my business include softball, art, swimming and my favorite subject at school is Math.
